Plans lodged for York tennis centre
Plans have been lodged for the construction of a new indoor tennis facility in York.York St John University, supported by O’Neill Planning Associates and Sports Ground Design Ltd, has submitted an application to City of York Council for a development forming part of its Sports Park at Mille Crux.Planning permission is sought for a new indoor tennis facility on the site of existing courts to the east of the sports hall at the York St John University Sport Park.The facility will accommodate three regulation size hard surfaced tennis courts, and is designed to meet Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) standards for functionality, performance, safety and quality.York St John University established a Sport Park at the 59.3-acre site on Haxby Road after purchasing the site from Nestlé in April 2012.
