Agents appointed for Basing View opportunities

Three property agents have been appointed to promote new office and retail schemes at Basingstoke town centre business park Basing View.Basingstoke agents BDT and Thames Valley-based RARE have been appointed by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to market a new pre-let opportunity at Norden House.Architects’ firm BDP is currently working on designs for a new office development on the gateway site, currently occupied by a two-storey building. A planning application is due to be submitted in autumn this year and the building could be available for occupation in early 2021.Retail and leisure specialist Norbury Sansom has been appointed to market a 1,775 sq ft retail unit at the park. A tenant that will provide an amenity for the occupiers of the park, such as a café or similar operator, is being sought.The space, which is due to be available for occupation in late 2020, will be located on the ground floor of a new 45,000 sq ft office building, which has been pre-let to international pharmaceutical business Eli Lilly and Company.As part of the council-led regeneration of the 65-acre urban business park, construction is already underway on a new Village Hotel, due to open in early 2020. Enabling work is also progressing for the development of two new office buildings of 45,000 sq ft and 40,000 sq ft and an adjoining multi-storey car park.In addition to new construction projects, Arena Business Centres is refurbishing Quantum House, which will be its second centre at Basing View and Squarestone is planning a refurbishment of the 154,000 sq ft grade II-listed Mountbatten House. Refurbishment work has also started at the Southern Cross office building.
