Views sought on ambitious plans for St Mark’s Church of England Primary School

Members of the public are being invited to give their views on proposed plans for the expansion of St Mark’s Church of England Primary School in Shirley.Southampton City Council is taking forward plans to expand the school into an ‘All-Through’ school offering both primary and secondary education on one site.Local residents and other members of the local community are being invited to view planning proposals for the next phase of the project at two open events this month. This follows a previous period of public consultation and series of open events which ran from November 2018 to January 2019 and cabinet approval of the proposed project in March 2019.The consultation events are being held onWednesday 18 September 2019 between 3pm and 6pm at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School (School Hall – entry via main entrance on Western District Cut)Thursday 19 September 2019 between 3pm and 7pm at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School (School Hall – entry via main entrance on Western District Cut)Members of Southampton City Council, a Winchester diocesan representative, and a team of technical consultants will be available to talk about the proposals and answer questions.Anyone who is unable to attend the event and who would like to see a copy of the consultation boards can contact Vail Williams via solentplanning@vailwilliams.com. Members of the public will also have the opportunity to provide a formal response to the proposals once a planning application has been submitted later this year.
