New lease of life for former Toys R Us site
Plans to repurpose a former Toys R Us site at Deepdale Shopping Park have been submitted.The retailer vacated the unit in April 2018 and it has remained empty.Proposed is facilitating the occupation of the asset by Sports Direct, Flannels, Evans Cycles and an Everlast Fitness Club gym.Sports Direct would relocate from its existing premises on the shopping park, with the new site set to comprise 83,000 sq ft of space once a host of alterations have been made. These include adding a mezzanine.The jobs figure would be 24 full-time and 90 part-time across all four units, as well as 30 gym class instructors.
