Work starts on £2.5m industrial development
Work is underway on a £2.5m industrial development on the site of a former colliery in South Yorkshire.Commercial property developer Priority Space, in partnership with HG Sites, is behind the speculative development on Barrowfield Road in Thurnscoe at the site of the former Hickleton Colliery, which shut in 1988.Barrowfield Business Park will comprise 16 units for small to medium-sized businesses, providing about 25,000 sq ft of workspace in total.The units will be for light industrial, general industrial or storage and distribution, and are available to purchase or lease.Barnsdales and Commercial Property Partners (CPP) have been appointed as joint agents for the scheme.The development has been funded by the Sheffield City Region Jessica Fund, which is managed by CBRE Capital Advisors. Barnsley Council assisted Priority Space in securing funding.
