Plans for major 4×4 plant confirmed for Wales
Plans for INEOS Automotive to open a manufacturing and assembly plant Wales for the production of its new 4×4 Grenadier vehicle, creating up to 500 jobs, have been confirmed.Supported by the Welsh Government, INEOS Automotive will be constructing a 250,000 sq ft facilty at the Brocastle Business Park, on a site adjacent to the Ford plant in Bridgend.The location, adjacent to the established Bridgend Industrial Estate, will have capacity to accommodate a further 500,000 sq ft and the potential for many more jobs for expanding companies and other new investors into Wales.INEOS is purchasing 14 acres of land from the Welsh Government with development of the site infrastructure already underway, production of the new vehicle is projected to start as early as 2021.INEOS Automotive is already in talks with two Wales-based component supply companies to support its work which could provide a further boost to the Welsh economy.GMB, the union for auto-workers, welcomed the news about the planned INEOS facility.
