Thumbs up for major mixed-use business park
Plans for a mixed-use business park on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon, which could create up to 1,500 jobs, have been voted through.IM Properties has secured the go-ahead for the project on 61 acres of land to the south of the A46 and west of the proposed western relief road off Alcester Road. The business park will contain 139,995 sq ft of offices, 258,398 sq ft of storage and distribution space, 64,604 sq ft of light industry, 13.4 acres for car showrooms and 79,997 sq ft put aside for a bulky goods store.Stratford-upon-Avon District Council’s planning committee approved the application at a meeting on Wednesday 18 September.A previous application for the site was refused because of insufficient information on highway safety and obligations over improving infrastructure and services to mitigate the impact of the development not being met. This application is an almost exact resubmission of the refused scheme. The only change relates to the Parameters Plan which addresses identified inconsistencies with the Illustrative Masterplan.
