MoD offices tipped for green light
Plans for an office building in Whittington Heath which would have room for 438 full-time equivalent MoD employees have been recommended for approval. London-based consultancy and construction firm Mace Group has worked on the project.The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is seeking permission from Lichfield District Council for a new two/three-storey office building and 230-space car park at Whittington Barracks in Tamford Road.The application also calls for the demolition of buildings six and nine on the site.The new office would accommodate the relocation of the DIO from a site in Sutton Coldfield.The council’s planning committee is set to debate the application at a meeting on Monday 30 September.
