Plans for 100-home development set for approval

Plans to develop more than 100 homes on a site in West Yorkshire are recommended for approval when they go before councillors later this week (26 September 2019).Cushman & Wakefield, on behalf of Kirkless Council, submitted an application towards the end of 2018 for a site off Tithe House Way in Bradley, Huddersfield.Planning permission is sought for the construction of 105 new homes, with two garden courts proposed either side of a new east-west spine road.The properties would include a short terrace, three blocks of flats and detached and semi-detached dwellings. A total of 25 of the units would be affordable housing.The application is recommended for approval, subject to conditions, when it goes before the council’s Strategic Planning Committee on 26 September.A planning officer’s report prepared for the meeting said the proposed development “includes good quality housing (at an appropriate density, and including sufficient affordable housing) and adequate open space”.The proposed development forms part of a wider residential scheme known as Bradley Park, which also includes the Bradley Park Golf Club site.
