RLB appointed as project delivery partner in two landmark Midlands schemes
Leading independent construction and property management consultancy, Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB UK) has been appointed the preferred project delivery partner of IM Properties (IMP) in two landmark schemes in the Midlands, Peddimore Employment Park and the recently approved Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Global Parts Logistics Centre.Taking on the role of Employer’s Agent, Cost Consultant, Principal Designer and Project Manager across the projects, the two wins reflect the ongoing relationship that RLB has with IMP, which is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned property companies. As part of this role, RLB will manage the project delivery of its sustainability and social value initiatives with the Peddimore project signed up to the Birmingham City Council Social Value Charter which looks to maximise the benefits significant projects can bring to the local economy.Based a few miles from Junction 9 on the M42, Peddimore Birmingham, that gained planning permission in August, will be one of the UK’s most important new manufacturing and logistics sites delivering 2.7 million square feet of employment space. The JLR Global Parts Logistics centre, close to junction 11 of the M42 in Appleby Magna near Ashby, is 2.94m sq ft.Both the Peddimore and the Jaguar Land Rover projects are part of a sustainable growth strategy for Birmingham 2011- 2031.
