Aggregate provides asphalt to new Devonshire development

Aggregate Industries has recently supplied various different colours of asphalt to the Devonshire Retail Park as part of an expansion in the Torbay area.
The retail park is located on the South Coast of Devon and is the largest mixed-use development in the South-Western region, resting upon the former grounds of an electronics factory in the town of Paignton.
Forming the hub of a new residential development, with over 1,500 new homes situated on the retail park site and the surrounding area, the Devonshire Retail Park features prominent retail outlets and five modern retail warehouses.
In carrying out the project, Aggregate was tasked, by Devon Contractors and Roadform Civil Engineering, to provide enough asphalt to create 359 car parking spaces, 20 of which would include disabled parking, with clear distinctions between spaces for electric cars, disabled spaces, and vehicle entrance roads.
Aggregate therefore provided 420 tonnes of SuperColour Ultra surface course in buff, green and blue, preceded by 1,200 tonnes of standard asphalt, and 210 tonnes of aggregates to provide the new development with high-quality finishing touches.
The Business Manager for Express Asphalt at Aggregate Industries, Katie McKeown stated: “As one of the region’s most prominent development schemes, Devonshire Retail Park naturally requires a modern car park, complete with clearly marked disabled and charging bays for the rising number of electric vehicles now on the roads.
“With a selection of high performance asphalt blends at our disposal, including different colours and performance properties, we are incredibly proud that our SuperColour range proved to be the ideal solution in meeting the unique requirements of this project.”
Chris Masters at Roadform Civil Engineering, added: “I would like to thank Aggregate Industries for the service the company provided throughout this project – from the meticulous planning and delivery of the materials, to the invaluable technical advice. I am really impressed with the hard work that helped us to successfully complete the works on time.”
