Redrow set for Knutsford approval
Redrow’s plans to build a 190-home development in Knutsford are set to be backed. The company has already secured outline approval for the scheme, which is earmarked for land near Northwich Road.Cheshire East Council’s planning committee was set to decide on the reserved matters application on 28 August. However, a decision as deferred to allow officers to work with the applicant’s agents and other stakeholders to address a number of concerns raised. These included the housing mix, affordable housing location, environmental/sustainability factors on the site and policies in the Knutsford Neighbourhood Plan and Design Guide.A meeting was held with the respective groups on 18 September 2019 where Redrow listened to concerns and suggestions. In turn, a full set of revised plans were received by the planning authority in early October. The included changes to house types, garages and detailing, a cycle lane being added to the western side of main spine road and a green energy uplift. The mix would still be 133 market homes and 57 affordable properties. The application has been recommended for approval, with the committee set to meet on 23 October.
