Work to start on final phase of £97m regeneration project
Sunderland-headquartered Gentoo Homes is about to start construction on the final phase of its Doxford Park regeneration project, with 100 homes to be built on the land off Mill Hill Lane.The new development, which will be known as ‘Churchfields’, is adjacent to the Gentoo Homes’ ‘Thurcroft’ development, with the existing open space being closed off to the public as part of major construction work.The site will feature a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom properties, with work starting in the coming weeks. Ninety homes will be made available for market sale, eight homes for affordable rent and two further affordable homes available to purchase at discount market value.Gentoo builds aboutd 200 homes per year for sale and manages 28,000 social housing properties in Sunderland.
