KBS advises on cutting tools supplier takeover
Bolton-based KBS Corporate has advised on the acquisition of a specialist supplier of metal cutting tools by an industry giant.Peter Campbell Sales (PCS), which works with customers operating in the oil and gas, aerospace, defence, automotive and precision machining industries, has been bought by Rubix UK.It operates from sites in Scotland and in Birtley, Tyne & Wear, while also managing approximately 70 industrial vending machines.Rubix, which has a presence in more than 22 countries and is backed by private equity firm Advent International, is a supplier of industrial maintenance, reporting a turnover of €2.3bn in 2018.The deal allows Rubix to consolidate its position in the UK specialist cutting tool market, following the purchase of Matrix Tooling Services in 2018. PCS will continue to operate independently to Brammer Buck and Hickman and alongside Matrix Tooling Services, with Andy Jeffrey continuing in his role as managing director of PCS.Tom Eatough, associate corporate director at KBS Corporate, advised PCS throughout the process.
