A vacant store in Chester could soon be transformed into a bar.The Watergate Street site was last used as a storage area associated with the Toy Craft retail shop. The adjoining properties are also predominantly commercial uses.Proposed is transforming the two-storey site into a drinking establishment. The application has been called in to Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning committee by councillor Rudd due to concerns that it would “harm the residential amenity of people living nearby” and would “result in crime and disorder”.The site has been vacant for some time, meaning it is “susceptible to falling into disrepair”.Approval has been recommended, with the authority set to meet on 5 November.
