Affordable Cambridge scheme set for approval

Plans to knock down a block of flats in Cambridge and replace it with new homes look set to get the thumbs up.An application to knock down the buildings at 66 to 80b Colville Road were filed by Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP) and have been recommended for approval ahead of a city council planning committee meeting later this week (6 November 2019).CIP is a joint venture between Cambridge City Council and Hill Investment Partnership.The new development would comprise 69 affordable dwellings, including six houses and 63 apartments.Documents filed ahead of the committee meeting said the proposed scheme would significantly increase the amount of affordable housing to help meet demand in Cambridge.
