Lichfields lodges Salford proposals
An application for a 557-bed student scheme on the site of a disused industrial warehouse in Salford has been submitted. The Manchester office of planning and development consultancy Lichfields lodged the proposals on behalf of Gather Properties.Carrying the proposed name of Gather Peel Park, it is earmarked for a site which currently accommodates Stervon House and is located on the northern boundary of the Campus Masterplan, which is currently being prepared by the University of Salford and the council. If approved, the existing buildings – which were previously the home of a catering company – will be demolished for the construction of two-eight storey buildings joined by a one-storey link corridor. The scheme would comprise two U-shaped blocks adjoined by a one-storey link fronting onto Broughton Road East, as well as a commercial unit.AHR Architecture has developed the design.
