Go-ahead expected for major city centre flats bid

Almost 350 apartments could be constructed next to Nottingham Railway Station after the plans were tipped to be approved next week.Marrons Planning, on behalf of Blockwork LLP, is seeking permission from the city council to create 348 studio, one, two and three-bedroom flats for the built to rent market.The earmarked site fronts onto Queen’s Road and backs onto the railway. It is owned by Network Rail which is a partner in the proposed development.If the go-ahead is granted for the nine-storey building at a meeting on Wednesday 20 November, a total of 17 studios, 199 one-bed, 126 two-bed and six three-bed apartments would be constructed.The development would also feature 46 car parking spaces and a commercial unit.The site, which forms the final phase in the multimillion-pound refurbishment and redevelopment of the station, has previously been used as a car park.
