This framework is for the control and automation systems and services requirement for the whole of Thames Water.
The framework will be divided into two lots.
Lot 1 – Control and Automation Systems. This includes:
a) The manufacture and related systems integration of low voltage control systems, for example, motor control centres. The scope may include the design, manufacture, testing, supply, delivery, and commissioning of low voltage control systems.
b) Stand alone design, systems integration and commissioning of control systems, i.e ‘pure’ systems integation not involving the manufacture of hardware.
Suppliers will need to be capable of leading the design, production, project management, technical services and site management of large projects of up to £3 million.
The scope will exclude electrical cabling installation.
Some of the control systems may be standardised into a catalogue which will be enhanced through the life of the framework.

The upgrade and maintenance of existing systems and resultant integration with existing operational systems. The scope may include, but is not limited to, new build programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces; SCADA systems; electrical site works related to ICA and the installation of instrumentation. This lot will also include managing changes to existing systems.
This lot is essentially for basic systems integration without supply of any low voltage assemblies. Individual jobs will typically be below £20k but this value may be subject to change.
Please see the separate lot 1 and 2 sections for more information.
These new framework agreements would supersede the existing agreements. Thames Water reserves the right to make no award as a result of this procurement process, or may award in part or in whole. Preference will be given to applicants who can provide products / services for multiple lots and frameworks.
Any agreement awarded would be for an initial duration of 3 years with options to extend biannually up to a maximum length of 7 years. This would be subject to satisfactory reviews on price and supplier performance.
