Final plans lodged for £118m Cross Tay Link Road
An £118 million project to deliver a third crossing over the River Tay connecting the A9 with land north of Scone has now been submitted for planning.Perth & Kinross Council said the Cross Tay Link Road will enable the local authority to fulfil the aims of its development plan, improve air quality within the city and reduce congestion.Forming phase two of four of the Perth Transport Futures Project, the development will include the realignment of a section of the A9 trunk road, the provision of a new bridge across the River Tay and railway line, the creation of a new grade separated junction on the A9 and a new 6km link road connecting the A9 with the A93 and A94.The project is being spearheaded by consultants Sweco.The plans are likely to be brought before councillors for a final decision in 2020.Construction is expected to take around two-and-a-half years.
