New owner plans refurbishment for former Heeco factory

The former Heeco factory in Hull has been acquired, with its new owner planning to refurbish the unit, potentially supporting the creation of up to 100 jobs.The Humber Electrical Engineering Company (Heeco) has traded for 11 people and employed more than 50 people at its Sutton Fields base before collapsing into administration in June 2019.The prominent Amsterdam Road property has since been snapped up by Hessle-based Essential Estates Ltd. The new owner has pledged to bring both the offices and manufacturing staff facilities up to date, with an extensive refurbishment set be completed early in the new year.Having negotiated the initial purchase, PPH Commercial has been appointed as the sole agents for the 26,422 sq ft unit, which features ground floor and mezzanine offices, a boardroom, reception area, kitchen, WCs and locker rooms.
