Dalata signs Liverpool hotel deal
Irish hotel group Dalata has signed a deal to lease a new venue located close to the landmark Liverpool One retail and leisure complex.The Maldron is being lined up as part of a mixed-use scheme being jointly developed by the Elliot Group and Valorem.Based on Park Lane, it will sit adjacent to the Liverpool One retail and leisure complex and within walking distance of a number of city centre attractions.It will comprise approximately 260 rooms, a restaurant, bar and meeting room facilities, having already secured planning permission.Construction is expected to commence in the first half of 2020 ahead of a mid-2022 opening.The two are now in discussions with funders for the scheme’s three new-build residential blocks, which include a 16-storey tower on the corner of Park Lane.Hill Dickinson in Liverpool advised Elliot and Valorem on the deal, while Squire Patton Boggs acted for Dalata.The overall masterplan for Park Lane has been designed by the Liverpool studio of Falconer Chester Hall. Zerum acted as planning consultant.
