Councillors in Aberdeen are due to discuss plans for the creation of a £110 million housing development in Bridge of Don.Cognito Oak LLP – a partnership between Henry Boot Developments and Wraith Real Estate – has submitted an application to build the development in the Aberdeen suburb. The partnership hopes to build homes, shops, community facilities and a football pitch which would serve as the new home ground for juniors side Bridge of Don Thistle housed on the land north of the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.A special predetermination hearing is due to be held on January 15th which will allow councillors to discuss the proposals with the developers before a more formal meeting is held to determine whether the plans will be approved, The Press and Journal reports.Aberdeen City Council has arranged the meeting as it has argued that the plans are a “significant departure from the local development plan” (LDP).The location is currently earmarked for business and industrial use in the LDP.
