Hotel on former pub site approved
Plans for a new hotel on the site of a former pub have been given the go-ahead.The Peak District National Park Authority’s planning committee has approved plans for a 60-bed hotel on the site of the former Rising Sun pub near Bamford.Sheffield and Hope Valley-based Peak Architects and ID Planning helped secure the approval.The planned hotel would be run by an independent operator specialising in the outdoor/leisure market and aimed at visitors to the Peak District.Traditional materials from the area are set to be used, including coursed local gritstone and natural blue slate roofing.ID Planning’s Sheffield office advised GIGI Developments on the proposal, with community and stakeholder engagement led by Royal Pilgrim Communications.
