Plans unveiled for £260m Digbeth cultural quarter

Developer Cole Waterhouse has released images of plans for a £260m cultural quarter in the Digbeth area of Birmingham.The developer has assembled the 3.5-acre site, which occupies a prominent position off Upper Trinity Street and Adderley Street, from five individual landowners.It is now preparing to submit a planning application in March.The Upper Trinity Street scheme of around eight buildings, one rising to up to 35-storeys, will consist of 1,100 flats, a 120-bedroom hotel and commercial and shopping space.Subject to planning approval the developer aims to start construction work next year.
