Contractor chosen to carry out £5m Foxhill flat refurbishment

Bath-based housing association Curo has appointed a contractor to carry out the £5m refurbishment of Foxhill flats.Work on the three four-storey blocks at Bradford Park will be completed by Mi-space.Mi-space, part of the Midas Group, specialises in providing maintenance and property services to affordable housing providers and has already started work on transforming the Foxhill flats.Plans for refurbishing the 48 apartments were developed in partnership with local residents.Each of the three blocks at Bradford Park will get a new roof, new windows to improve natural lighting, new ventilation and insulated exterior walls to improve the energy efficiency of the blocks and reduce energy costs for residents.New kitchens, bathrooms and gas boilers will be installed and all three blocks will undergo a full electrical re-wire, fire safety improvement works and new plasterwork, joinery, decorations and flooring.As part of this commitment, Mi-space is employing a Bath College student as a construction technician apprentice. Rebecca Chapman will work on the project to refurbish the flats while she studies at college.Curo expects the refurbishment of Bradford Park flats to be completed later this year with tenants moving in by the autumn.The refurbished flats will be let via Homesearch, Bath and North East Somerset Council’s housing register for social rent homes.
