400-home plans set to get the go-ahead

Proposals to develop more than 400 homes on a site in East Yorkshire look set to get the go-ahead when they go before councillors later this week (20 February 2020).Lovel Developments submitted plans to East Riding of Yorkshire Council in May 2019 for a site at Woodmansey.The proposed development represents the next phase of the council’s housing masterplan for Beverley.Two applications will be considered at the council’s Planning Committee meeting on 20 February, with consent sought for up to 430 homes on a 35.2-acre site.The proposed residential development would include a 15 per cent affordable housing provision.The applications are recommended for approval, subject to the signing of a Section 106 agreement, in a planning officer’s report prepared for the meeting.The application site is currently in agricultural use and is located to the south of a parcel of land that has previously been granted permission for a development of 189 homes.The council masterplan was approved in 2015, with about 1,800 houses due to be constructed on nearly 190 acres of land between Woodmansey Mile in Beverley and Minster Way.
