Planning approval has been granted for the construction of more than 400 homes on a site in East Yorkshire. Two applications from Lovel Developments for development of a site at Woodmansey were approved, subject to the signing of a legal agreement, at a meeting of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning committee last week (20 February 2020).Up to 430 homes are set to be built on the 35.2-acre site. The development will include a 15 per cent affordable housing provision. The proposed development represents the next phase of the council’s housing masterplan for Beverley. In total, about 1,800 houses are due to be constructed on nearly 190 acres of land between Woodmansey Mile in Beverley and Minster Way.The application site is currently in agricultural use and is located to the south of a parcel of land that has previously been granted permission for a development of 189 homes.Approval was granted in line with the recommendation of a report from the council’s planning officer, as previous reported by Insider.
