Agri development hub tipped for approval

Proposals for the construction of a new agri hub for processing and research and development in Dungannon have been tipped for approval when they go before planners next week.Oil and coal fuel supplier Capper Trading has developed the plans as an extension to the company’s existing site on Tamnmore Road.Submitted to Mid Ulster District Council, the proposals involve the construction of buildings for straw processing and storage of raw materials, as well as a covered garage/vehicle maintenance building, an office building and ancillary plant and equipment buildings.Located on an approximately 24-acre site, the scheme is supported by Invest NI and is expected to create 40 direct jobs, which will amount to a £15m investment and a £1m contribution to the local economy. Additionally, 20 construction jobs are expected to be created during the 10 year construction programme.Capper Trading has been in operation for 50 years and currently employs more than 120 staff. The firm has said that the new development will support and develop its product range and build export sales.The proposals will be scrutinised by planners on 3 March 2020, with them having been recommended for approval.
