Plans in for new Portadown sports training facility
Plans have been lodged for an extensive new sports training facility in Portadown.Brought forward by Armagh Gaelic Athletic Association, the proposals consist of four new pitches, sports changing pavilion with multi-purpose hall, a gym, maintenance building, stands/terraces, as well as floodlighting.The scheme provides 404 parking spaces including five coach spaces and 24 cycle stands.Extending to approximately 28.6 acres, the application site is located on lands at and surrounding St Malachy’s Hurling Club on Moy Road, with the club intending to continue its use of the site once the development is completed.It is projected that the scheme will be used by about 15 teams including both underage and senior teams.
