New County Durham homes set for green light
Proposals to develop more than 20 new homes in County Durham have been tipped for the green light when they go before planners next week.Dere Street Homes lodged the plans with Durham County Council, with the company intending to build 23 houses located on land at Meadow View in Wheatley Hill.The new homes, which are intended to be managed by Durham Aged Miners Housing Association, would include four lines of terraced bungalows, with 10 per cent of them allocated for affordable housing.The site was formerly occupied by six lines of terraced housing, which was completely cleared by the 1980s.A report that is set to be scrutinised by planners on Tuesday 10 March recommends the plans be approved, subject to conditions.
