Approval for agri development hub

Proposals for the construction of a new £15m agri hub for processing and research and development in Dungannon have been given the seal of approval.Oil and coal fuel supplier Capper Trading has developed the plans as an extension to the company’s existing site on Tamnmore Road.Submitted to Mid Ulster District Council, the proposals involve the construction of buildings for straw processing and storage of raw materials, as well as a covered garage/vehicle maintenance building, an office building and ancillary plant and equipment buildings.The new development is expected to create 20 sustainable construction jobs during an anticipated 10 year build programme. It is estimated that it will contribute £11.3m GVA to the Northern Ireland economy.Capper Trading has been in operation for 50 years and currently employs more than 120 staff. The firm has said that the new development will support and develop its product range and build export sales.Planning consultant Turley, alongside local architect Studio Fourty Four, helped secure the decision.
