Plans for a £9m investment to revitalise Todmorden town centre look set to move forward at a meeting next week.Calderdale Council is aiming to redevelop the Rose Street area, which currently comprises the demolished health centre site, Pollination Street community garden, car parking spaces and outdoor market stalls. The council and AHR Architects have now drawn up proposals for the site, including a new town square and events space, 38 homes, a refreshed outdoor market, three retail units, and an aparthotel with ten units and a restaurant.Cabinet members will be asked to approve the proposed outline scheme for the development at a meeting on 16 March 2020.Approval would pave the way for more detailed designs to be drawn up and consulted on, which would be presented to Cabinet in autumn 2020 subject to about £300,000 of Towns Fund money being available to finance the design work.
