Plans for an extensive development at a Wallsend golf club, which is expected to create 100 jobs, have been recommended for the green light. Harrison Golf and Leisure are intending to construct a new two-storey building at the Centurion Park Golf Club, which would include a driving range, bars, restaurants, function rooms, a golf shop and changing facilities. The project also includes the development of an additional 252 car parking spaces. The application site accounts for approximately 99 acres of the golf course, with the existing club house and driving range lying outside of this. The scheme is also expected to create a number of jobs during the construction phase, which is in addition to the 100 jobs created upon completion.A report set to be scrutinised by North Tyneside Council planners on Tuesday 17 March recommends the green light, subject to conditions.
