Belgrade Plaza deal moves forward
A bid by Coventry City Council to acquire the land and commercial property at Belgrade Plaza has moved forward.The authority’s cabinet approved a plan to purchase the long leasehold for the 129,500 sq ft area, which is made up of a Premier Inn, 63 flats, J D Gyms, restaurants and McColl’s, at a meeting on Tuesday 10 March.Its full council is now set to make a final decision on Tuesday 17 March.If the deal goes ahead, all will pay their rents to the council.Councillors also backed a proposal to purchase Oak House at Binley Business Park.The two-storey detached office block extends to 9,400 sq ft with 48 car park spaces.
