Social housing scheme gets the green light

Proposals to bring almost 50 new social and affordable houses to Belfast have been given the green light.Radius Housing Association has secured the approval from Belfast City Council for the development of 46 houses at Hopewell Crescent, situated on an approximately 3.8-acre brownfield site.Designed by Hall Black Douglas, the scheme comprises of eight general needs apartments, 36 general needs houses and two complex needs houses.The development is to be completed in two phases. Phase one consists of 18 dwellings that will be constructed on the grant of approval, with the remaining properties being part of phase two. Most of the houses have in-curtilage parking spaces, with parking for the apartment units provided by an enclosed carpark.The site is currently accessed by Hopewell Crescent and Hopewell Avenue, with Radius Housing intending to introduce a new road to connect the two.
