Aberdeen family business starts year with substantial contract delivery

An Aberdeen headquartered industry services firm is set to complete a projected six-figure contract on one of the city’s sustainable energy projects.Greenwell Equipment is supplying two large modular buildings for the NESS Energy Project which is Aberdeen’s new Energy from Waste plant being developed in East Tullos Industrial Estate by Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray councils. The project is being built and managed by Acciona.The double storey temporary buildings will house the main HQ buildings and the canteen and welfare facilities for the 200 strong team which is set to work on the construction of the new facility.The large 700sqm and 350sqm modular buildings were delivered and erected on site across a four-week period.Launched in 1996, Greenwell, which is headquartered in Aberdeen’s Greenbank Road, supplies modular buildings, containers, warehouse racking and office furniture. The contract kicks off 2020 as Greenwell recorded an end of year turnover of £3.4 million, which was a 15% increase on 2018, and with additional contracts already secured for 2020 the business is set to hit a projected £4m turnover this financial year.The family firm, which has 16 employees, has supplied more than 500 modular buildings to several large Scottish infrastructure projects, including the Queensferry Crossing joint venture and the AWPR consortium. Greenwell’s furniture division is also fully furnishing the temporary buildings to the client’s specification to ensure the workforce has the required facilities to deliver the project throughout the duration of the construction phase.
