Association secures council approval for Lambeth development

Homes for Lambeth’s three-year business plan has been approved by the leader of Lambeth council, it has been announced. As part of plans to help transform the borough’s housing landscape, the wholly owned council-housing company will build over 4,000 new homes on six estates in Lambeth.Cllr Matthew Bennett, a Lambeth council’s cabinet member for Planning, Investment, and New Homes, said the plan lays the groundwork for over a thousand new homes by 2025, over half of them affordable and with 439 new council homes. The programme will also see the development of a social investment and resident-engagement programme – investing up to £2m in the community over the next five years.
