Description: This pilot EU funding will support around 8 innovative approaches to informal/non-formal music education and learning for 6 – 14 year olds, fostering social inclusion across Specified Location.As a result of this dialogue, a series of pilot funding opportunities have been instigated across 2018 to 2020 with a view to developing future European opportunities dedicated to the music sector from 2021 onwards.WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS?Around 8 innovative approaches to fostering informal/non-formal music education and learning with 6 – 14 year olds to foster social inclusion will be supported, involving collaborations between education institutions (or related organisations) and music organisations.The aim is to test small-scale projects that have a European element to their activity, or applicability to other European countries, and would be able to be applied in other countries and learnt from.They are looking for projects that can deliver the following results:Demonstration of best-practice examples of how cooperation between education and the music sector can foster social inclusion (e.g allowing children to access music education and learning who would not otherwise have the opportunity)Fostering sustainable forms of cooperation, such as the creation of networks, which have a European dimension to themTesting ideas for ways of targeting music education with a view to the next EU funding programmes beyond 2020Contributing to ideas for music education as part of music-specific interventions at a European levelActivities could include:Organisation of workshops, summer schools or campsUse of audio-visual or digital toolsPreparation and participation at a music activity such as a community project, a show, a parade or a festivalActivities not eligible:Formal education activities, studies, mapping projects5.
