Indoor football centre proposed for logistics unit

A logistics depot in Sheffield could be redeveloped as an advanced indoor football training centre if newly lodged plans get the green light.Kickabout Football Centre, supported by Stainton Planning, has submitted an application to Sheffield City Council for the redevelopment of the DPD depot in Units 1 and 2 Vantage Close.Full planning permission is sought for the use of the building as a football training centre open to professional clubs, grass roots teams and the general public.A synthetic playing surface would be installed in the existing warehouse and workshop, with two three-vs-three pitches created, along with areas for football squash, football tennis, teqball, dribble and passing zones, and an area for one-to-one training.The office building would provide a reception and offices, as well as a gym, physio room, cafe, toilets and changing facilities.The facility would support four full-time and up to 16 part time jobs, as well as roles during construction and fit-out work.DPD has notified the landlord of its intention to vacate the site in June 2020.
