Green light for residential conversion of Dundees Downfield House
Dundee City Council has approved plans to redevelop a former Victorian school into residential flats.The conversion of Downfield House was proposed by Aberkell Developments which purchased the building for a price believed to be of almost £500,000.Under plans designed by Dundee architect Jon Frullani is, the property will now be converted into 12 two-bedroom flats, as well as to build two detached houses within the building’s grounds and 18 parking spaces.Situated on land to the east of the building, both detached houses will have four bedrooms.Planners said the proposed mix of flats and houses would “contribute to the choice and mix of housing within the city” and “would support the provision of a range of house types and sizes”.
