The proposed conversion of two West Yorkshire mill buildings most recently used as education facilities into apartments has been given the go-ahead.Jade3 Architecture, on behalf of Madison Investments and Bradford College, submitted an application to Bradford Council earlier this year for the redevelopment of Garden Mills and Junction Mills. Both buildings have most recently been used by the college as education facilities but are now surplus to its requirements. The plans cover the conversion of Junction Mills to create 42 apartments, with 65 created in Garden Mills.A mix of studios, one- and two-bed, and duplex apartments would be provided. Concierge and gym facilities would also be created in both buildings.Planning permission has now been granted by the council, subject to conditions, under delegated powers. An application to convert the buildings was initially refused in January 2020 but the resubmitted application has been approved after additional information was provided.
