scPlans submitted for 126 new homes in Corstorphine

Artisan Real Estate has submitted a major planning application to the City of Edinburgh Council for 126 distinctive and spacious apartments in Corstorphine reaffirming the developer’s continued commitment to investing in the city.Rowanbank Gardens comprises a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments planned for the site of the former Gylemuir Care Home, next to Gyle Park and close to the main A8 access route to the city.Working with Porter Planning and a design team comprising 7N architects, Rankin Fraser landscape architects, Atelier 10, Transport Planning, Quattro engineers, Axiom Project Services and streets-UK, the homes have been designed around a large internal garden. All ground floor apartments will have a private garden or balcony space and many of the upper apartments have balconies overlooking the gardens.Charlotte Swanson, Artisan’s regional development manager, said there has been strong interest in the proposals from Corstorphine residents who want to downsize and stay in the area and from families looking for more space.Artisan is planning a further community event prior to the determination of the Rowanbank Gardens planning application, to show how final proposals have addressed initial public feedback.
