House of Fraser hotel plans set for vote
Lincoln’s House of Fraser could be knocked down and replaced by a hotel and retail scheme if the plans are given the green light later this week.The four-storey building in High Street has been earmarked for the development which would featyre 150 rooms and retail and leisure space on the ground floor.The new building would rise from two to five storeys and include a total of 80,686 sq ft of internal space.The four-star hotel would support 35 full-time equivilent (FTE) and 20 part-time equivilent roles as well as at least ten housekeeping positions.Between 49 and 66 FTE jobs would be created for the retail space and 90 FTE construction roles would be supported.Applicant Halifax Pension Nominees is seeking the go-ahead from City of Lincoln Council when its planning committee meets remotely on Wednesday 20 May.
