Wates submits £20m leisure centre plans
Wates Construction has submitted plans for a £20m leisure centre in Widnes.The proposals – brought forward on behalf of Halton Council – are for a 50,000 sq ft, two-storey hub built on Moor Lane.This would include a 25m swimming pool with seating for about 150 people, a 100-station gym, four-court sports hall, exercise studios, squash court, soft play area, health consultation rooms, car park and a café/social space.The project has been procured via Major Works – UK, part of the Scape National Construction framework.
