Plans to convert a former bank on Oxford’s London Road into a bar have been submitted to the city council. The property – 105 London Road – stands at the crossroads of London Road and Old High Street in Headington. The application proposes the change of use of the ground floor and basement from financial services to a drinking establishment.Works also include the removal of two cash machines. The offices on the first floor would be retained.A planning statement lodged by Carter Jonas on behalf of applicant Bradford Securities Ltd said the site is “a fully accessible and sustainable part of Oxford within a predominantly commercial setting”.It added the change would add to the “vibrancy” of Oxford’s centre.
