Argyll and Bute Council to resume £1.7m home insulation scheme

Argyll and Bute Council has confirmed that its home insulation scheme is to resume, in line with Scottish Government guidance.The scheme received funding of £1,745,908 from the Scottish Government’s Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland: Area Based Scheme fund in July of 2019. The programme is available to owner occupiers and private rented householders living in properties in council tax bands A to C. External/internal wall insulation, underfloor insulation, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation works are offered in the scheme.The council confirmed that contractor BCA Insulation will resume external works from Monday July 6. The local authority added that works that will be given priority at the restart of operations are those in the Kintyre and Mid Argyle areas which were paused in March due to the Covid-19 outbreak.BCA Insulation said that it has put new working practices in place in line with all Scottish Government and construction industry guidance to ensure the safety of householders receiving works and also the workforce.
