Green light for more than 40 homes
More than 40 homes are set to be constructed on brownfield site that has stood empty for more than a decade.The development on Bournes Bank, off Wood Street, Burslem, is the latest to be brought forward after Stoke-on-Trent City Council secured £9.5m from the government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund in 2018.The authority’s planning committee approved the scheme at a virtual meeting on Wednesday 22 July.Applicant Amstone Development will now build a total of 43, two and three-bed homes on the site.The work will also see three existing bottle kilns on the site, known as Three Sisters, retained, restored and maintained.The announcement comes just weeks after St Modwen Homes secured permission to build 216 homes on the site of the former Royal Doulton factory in the town, another Housing Infrastructure Fund site.
