Plans lodged for mews homes at vacant Kelvinhaugh site
Councillors are to consider plans for a development of four mews homes on a concealed site Glasgow’s Kelvinhaugh district.Mitre Properties has applied to develop overgrown vacant land at Overnewton Place, off Kelvinhaugh Street, beside the University of Glasgow’s Cairncross House student accommodation.Designs by O’DonnellBrown Architects show the upside-down homes locate sleeping areas on the ground floor, with dual aspect living areas above. Another key aspect of the development will be the provision of cycling facilities to plug into the emerging Yorkhill and Kelvingrove Cycling Village, a district wide public realm initiative led by the local authority and Sustrans.All homes are being delivered with David Narro Associates engineers and KRAFT Architecture and Research as energy assessor.
