Mixed-use scheme on Poole boat yard set for thumbs up
Plans for the development of a new mixed-use facility comprising hospitality and residential uses on the site of the Sandbanks Yacht Company in Poole look set for the thumbs up.The Sandbanks Yacht Company occupies a site on Panorama Road. The site as a has undergone a major redevelopment in recent years providing a number of residential projects, extensive boat yard storage, car parking and other facilities including a restaurant/café.Brought forward by Phoenix Spencer, the new proposals involve the construction of a new four-storey block, with a ground floor restaurant and office, along with 15 new apartments occupying the above three floors. The two commercial uses are designed to replace the ones currently in use by the Sandbanks Yacht Company.Basement parking is proposed with access from Panorama Road shared with the existing boatyard access.A report for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council – whose planning committee meets on 13 August – recommends that the plans be approved.
